Ruud Lanfermeijer

Lanfermeijer, biologist, visual artist and interactive performance designer, lives and works in Amsterdam (NL) and in Altenahr/Walporzheim (DE). He makes visual work, installations and theater pieces. He is course leader and teacher at the Interactive Performance Design department and teacher at the Master Scenography at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and works for the Rijksmuseum.

Work has been featured in: The New museum for Contemporary art New York, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Frans Hals Museum, Stedelijk Museum Het Domein Sittard, Rijksmuseum Kasteel het Nijenhuis, Rijksmuseum Twente, Stedelijk Museum Het Prinsenhof, the Fries museum, Kröller Müller, Noord Brabants Museum, Darat al Funun in Amman, Impact Festival, Dutch film festival, Tetem Enschede.

In 2005 he founded The Blue Noise Department, which focuses on user generated art and interactive environments for performance and theater. He has been nominated for the Cinekid new media award, the Willink van Collen Prize, The Royal Subsidy for painting and the Prix de Rome.
